The inspiration for the Bellevue bathtub was the Seattle Central Library, designed by Architects Rem Koolhaas and Joshua Prince-Ramus. This library’s 11 floors are arranged into platforms that slant and rise, forming the building’s unique asymmetrical shape. It redefined the perception of libraries – long cast as institutions where purpose is foremost and aesthetic is an afterthought. Like the building, both beauty and function were forefront when this bath was designed.

Manufactured from high-quality HydroLuxe, Hydro Systems created this material from a blend of both organic minerals and the best in engineered composites. This material can provide unlimited design creativity with superior strength, durability, stain resistance and a non-porous finish. It is a blend of cast acrylic polymer for durability and bonding strength, and ATH which is derived from Bauxite Ore (an aluminum ore). ATH is also a natural fire-retardant.
