DriftBath — Ultra Serene Bathing Experience

Aquatic’s DriftBath system is a completely, new approach to luxury hydrotherapy
offering builders and homeowners another option in addition to soaker, HotSoak, whirlpool and air bathtubs. Available on Aquatic Serenity and Serenity Studio models, DriftBath is ideal for the bather seeking simple and quiet hydrotherapy for floating away into restful relaxation.

The new system features more than 70 water-only ports located in the backrest and foot areas of the bathing well. Each port individually releases a delicate ribbon of moving water that converges to create a blanket of water that flows in one direction. The result is a soft current that simulates the experience of sitting in a calm stream.

In typical whirlpool and air bath systems, a mixture of air and water pushed into the bathing well creates generates a more active, invigorating or effervescent form of hydrotherapy. DriftBath eliminates air induction and minimizes the movement of the water for a quieter, more serene bath.

To add to the DriftBath experience, an integrated pump and motor unit captures the heat energy it generates and infuses it into the water. This energy-efficient feature eliminates the need for a separate, in-line heater to maintain the bath’s warmth. Additionally water traveling around the motor mutes its operating sound and vibration.

Porcher Sinks & Riobel Faucets

This is a beautiful combination. Not just the Porcher Archive Vessel Sinks & the Riobel CS01 Faucets but the tile, lighting and entire design put together by David. Modern yet warm.

The Riobel CS Coaxial Thermostatic Control has a volume control right on the main plate to control water pressure when filling the tub. The water control for the hand shower is on the elbow supply (at the wall). Both can be used at the same time. Compact and efficient.

I Love my New Tub!

In Dan’s old tub there was no good way to take a bath. The drain was on one end and would dig into your back, and the faucet was on the other end, a perfect place to bang your head against.

Dan replace his old tub with a new beauty from Hydro Systems. He went with The Kira 72 x 32 Heated soaking tub. Hydro Fusion (heated soaking) has a recirculating pump and heater to maintain the water temperature. All of Hydro System’s soaking tubs have the Hydro Fusion option. It is also available on their air tubs.

“I LOVE the new tub and can’t stay out of it. I installed new showers also but haven’t tried them yet. I just can’t get past the heated bath thing.”

Dan also went with the Linear Drain option. A modern rectangle overflow, this drain offers a deeper bathing experience. Since this tub has a center drain & two back slants, 2 people can sit in the bath without one sitting on the drain.

Quick Tub Fillers – Tub Faucets

Not all tub fillers are created equally. The larger the tub the more important a tub faucet’s flow rate. Let’s take a 60 gallon tub. At 16 gpm (gallons per minute) at 60 psi (pounds per square inch – water pressure) it will take 3.75 minutes. Slow the faucet down to 7 gpm and you are almost 9 minutes. If you have a larger tub, let’s say 120 gallons, the difference between 16 & 7 gpm is 9 minutes. At that point the tub water is already cooling down.

The Perfect Bathtub for a Small Space

Measuring 54 x 30 x 17.75, the MTI Andrea 17 can be tucked into a small bathroom as a drop-in or under mount (as pictured). Add a tile flange and front skirt for an alcove installation. You can even add a skirt to 2, 3 or 4 sides. The picture below shows the Andrea 17 as a freestanding – 4 sided skirt.

Not only are there a lot of installation choices, you can choose to have this small bathtub as a soaking, heated soaking, air, whirlpool or a combination tub.
