What is the Quality of Your Copper Sink?
Not all copper sinks are created equally. If your copper sink comes from Native Trails it is of the utmost quality. How can we make this claim?
-Native Trails copper sinks are fired and hammered to such a degree that it will never change color. It will patina and darken, but it will never change to blue, green or white.
-Native Trails is the only copper manufacture at this time to have IAPMO listed sinks. IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials) is an agency that evaluates plumbing and mechanical products through nationally recognized standards and to the requirements of the Uniform Plumbing Code™ (UPC™).
-Native Trails has earned the right to be in Robb Report due to their quality - first copper line to ever be listed.
Care of Copper Sinks
Caring for our copper bowls in brushed nickel, natural, antique and tempered finish is surprisingly easy. For basic cleaning simply use a mild soap and water. Copper will naturally patina over time. Do not use copper cleaners or abrasives. Keep your basin and drain clean and dry by wiping it down after each use with a soft cloth. For extra protection, a product such as Flitz Faucet and Fixture Wax may be applied. Enjoy the living” qualities of your beautiful hand hammered bowl and feel proud to own a unique and functional work of art!
Copper's Anti-bacterial Properties
Native Trails’ line of handcrafted copper basins gives you one more reason to fall in love with copper – its antibacterial nature. Copper’s antibacterial properties effectively fight the growth of many micro-organisms and bacteria such as E-coli. With this knowledge, many hospitals are switching to copper surfaces to prevent the spread of illness due to cross-contamination between medical staff and patients. In food preparation, the traditional stainless surfaces allow for the viable pathogens to survive for weeks, where copper’s natural antimicrobial effects kill the dangerous bacteria in a matter of hours in wet or dry conditions.
