Bathroom Sink Faucets
Most bathroom faucets are mounted directly on the sink or on the counter directly behind the sink. There is also the option of wall mounting. If mounting on the sink, then the sink will determine the style needed.
•8" Widespread
A very popular size, the 8" widespread requires the outermost holes to be 8" apart. Some 8" Widespreads are variable - they can be custom spaced within limits(6" - 12").
•4" Centerset
Handles and spout combined on an integral 6" base. These require the center of the outside holes to be exactly 4" apart. The 4" Centerset is recommended for smaller pre-existing, pre-drilled bathroom sinks.
•Mini Widespread
Looks of a 8" Widespread but designed to fit in the same hole requirements as a 4" Centerset. The handles and spout are usually smaller than the 8" counterpart. Some Mini Widespreads are variable, they can be custom spaced from 4" to 8".
•Single Hole
Come in two styles: (1)a single post with a single lever that controls both volume and temperature or (2)a single post that has two handles, one to control volume of hot water and the other for cold. Available in different heights to meet your needs: standard height designed for drop-in, undermount or above counter sinks with an integrated faucet hole or extended heights for clearing above counter (vessel) sinks.
•Wall Faucet
Similar centers as described above. Often used with vessel sinks where a longer spout is necessary. These are sink faucets. Tubs may require a larger valve to fill faster. See Wall Mount Tub below.
•Vessel Faucets
Specially designed for use with vessel (above counter) sinks. They are designed to be taller to reach over the rim of the sink or as in the case of wall faucets, they have longer spouts to reach farther.
Bath Tub Faucets
Bathroom tub faucets can be mounted on the tub, on the deck that surrounds the tub, on the wall or free standing. Some have 3/4" valves for faster fill, others have 1/2" valves. See the manufacturer's technical sheets to find out the flow rate. When mounted on the tub or tub decking they are called Roman Tub Faucets. Many have the option of a hand shower, great for washing hair or rinsing the bath.
•Roman Tub
Are mounted on the deck. These are available in:
3 piece set - Hot & Cold Handles & Spout
4 piece set - Includes a hand shower with a diverter on the spout
5 piece set - Diverter is a third handle
•Wall Mount Tub
Called a two valve tub filler includes a hot and cold handle and a spout. We do not have these listed separately on our site yet we have many styles available. Take a look at California Faucets - each of their series has a two valve tub faucet available.
•Free Standing Bath
These bath faucets are mounted on the floor, the spout reaching over the bath. They may need extra support, attached to the wall or to the tub drain or are totally free-standing.
